Work In Progress

1.       In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

 Front cover
. Front cover follows some typical conventions (Masthead, barcode, cover line, date). However, the layout of the mag is not typical as my inspiration came from ID Magazine where they only use one main image and limited words.

MISE EN SCENE
. Medium shot- wanted the readers to see her whole outfit which reflected her as an artist
. Location shot suited the theme that I was going for, trendy yet sophisticated
.her costume reflects what type of artist she is and her sense in taste
. Blurred background to highlight her significance
. The natural lighting gives it a natural effect
. I think that using minimal words and puffs and skylines makes it look more effective and striking to the eye. Having a lot of puffs and pull quotes subordinates the formality of the magazine especially with the genre and theme I was going for (subverted the conventional magazine)
